Over 2,200 women and girls from various regions of Tajikistan, previously excluded from the education system for various reasons, have been enrolled in education over the past five years. This was announced by Tajikistan's Minister of Education and Science, Rahim Saidzoda, at a press conference summarizing the first half of 2026.
According to the agency, 2,236 women and girls from various cities and regions of the country completed the training over five years.
Of the total number of students, 940 received certificates of basic general education, and another 1,251 received certificates of secondary general education.
After completing their studies, 172 girls entered higher professional education institutions.
In the 2025–2026 academic year alone, 1,184 women and girls are enrolled in education. These are primarily rural residents who, for various reasons, were previously forced to interrupt their education or were unable to continue it.
Compared to the 2024–2025 academic year, the number of students has increased by 177 people.
In the current academic year, 227 girls will receive certificates of basic general education, and 603 will receive documents of secondary general education.
The training was organized by the State Institution of General Secondary Correspondence Education for Adolescents and Adults under the Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan.
Students with disabilities of groups I and II are accepted as independent auditors and are exempt from tuition fees. Furthermore, textbooks are provided free of charge.
