Tajik airline Somon Air is expanding its international flight network and is considering launching flights to London, Riyadh, Seoul, and Beijing. This was announced today at a press conference summarizing the first half of 2026, by Khabibullo Nazarzoda, Director of the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
It was noted that the airline is also continuing to work on resuming flights to Tbilisi and Antalya.
The carrier plans to expand its route network, in part, by expanding its fleet. In July and August 2026, Somon Air plans to lease two Boeing MAX aircraft.

The Civil Aviation Agency notes that the new aircraft will allow the company to open new routes and operate longer-distance flights.
Somon Air's fleet currently consists of six Boeing aircraft: two Boeing 737-900 and four Boeing 737-800.
In the first half of 2026, the airline carried 595,230 passengers. This is 38,018 passengers, or 7%, more than the same period last year.
Of the total number of passengers, 540,640 people used international flights, and another 54,590 used domestic flights.

During the reporting period, Somon Air operated flights from Tajikistan to Russia, Turkey, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Uzbekistan and India, as well as to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.
At the same time, the Russian route remains key for the airline, accounting for 56% of Somon Air's passenger traffic.
Over the six months, the carrier operated 1,928 paired flights, which is 13 flights, or 0.7%, more than in the same period in 2025.
In addition, the airline transported 543 tons of commercial cargo and 5 tons of mail. Total cargo volume decreased by 1.5 tons, or 0.3%.
