In Tajikistan, 107.6 tons of medicines, medical devices, cosmetics, hygiene products, and food products deemed unfit for use were destroyed in the first six months of 2026. This was announced by First Deputy Minister of Health Salomuddin Yusufi at a press conference of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.
According to the agency, the destroyed products included expired goods, counterfeit and illegally imported products, as well as goods that did not have the necessary documents confirming their quality and compliance with established requirements.
During inspections of pharmacies and pharmaceutical facilities, specialists withdrew 912 medications and medical devices from circulation. A total of 32,015 products were identified.
In particular, more than 11 thousand units of expired medicines and medical devices were withdrawn from circulation.
In addition, specialists identified over 2,000 units of medicines that did not have certificates of conformity.
Another 18,800 units of products were found to be non-compliant with established regulatory requirements.
Inspections were also conducted at healthcare facilities across the country. As a result, an additional 168 units of medications and medical devices were seized.
The Ministry of Health noted that the defective products were destroyed by incineration by a special commission.
Compared to the same period last year, the volume of destroyed products decreased by 22 tons.
