In Tajikistan, 285 cases of various diseases were identified during mandatory medical examinations of citizens before marriage.
In the first six months of 2026, 50,732 people underwent mandatory medical examinations before marriage. This was reported at a press conference by the Ministry of Health of Tajikistan.
Compared to the same period in 2025, the number of citizens who underwent medical examinations increased by 8,049. In the first six months of last year, 42,683 people were examined.
Based on the results of medical examinations, various diseases were detected in some citizens.
In particular, hepatitis B was detected in 205 people, and hepatitis C in 50 people.
HIV infection was detected in four people. Another five people were diagnosed with chickenpox.
In addition, mental illnesses were identified in 21 people.
The Ministry of Health noted that mandatory medical examinations of future spouses are conducted to early detect illnesses and protect the health of future families.
