Tajikistan's Minister of Finance Fayziddin Qahhorzoda, World Bank Regional Director for Central Asia Nadji Benhassine, and World Bank Group Country Manager for Tajikistan Gaël Raballan signed financing agreements for four recently approved projects totaling $495.5 million.
The funds are provided in the form of grants, according to the Ministry of Finance of Tajikistan.
The largest portion of the funding—$300 million—will be directed toward the implementation of the second stage of the Rogun HPP project's sustainable financing program.
An additional $100 million is allocated for a second operation under the Competitiveness and Inclusion Development Policy.

$75 million will be allocated for the implementation of the second project to strengthen water resources management and irrigation.
Additional funding for the investment project in the water supply and sanitation sector will amount to $20.5 million. This amount includes a European Union grant equivalent to $14.64 million.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, World Bank Regional Director for Central Asia Naji Benhassine said the new financing package reflects the strong partnership between the Government of Tajikistan and the World Bank.
According to him, this cooperation is enshrined in the recently approved Partnership Framework Program with the country for 2026–2032.

The program focuses on providing clean and affordable energy, building a healthier and more skilled workforce, and increasing private sector investment to create more quality jobs.
The combination of these investments and public policy reforms is expected to help make Tajikistan's economy more open and competitive, strengthen energy security, and improve access to reliable water supply, sanitation, and irrigation services.
A comprehensive solution to these priority issues is aimed at improving the lives of people across Tajikistan. This includes creating new jobs, supporting businesses, modernizing vital infrastructure and services, and laying the foundation for the country's sustainable economic development.
