More than 100 employees of the Tajikistan Committee of Emergency Situations are participating in the search for Alisher Mirzonabot, Chairman of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, and four other people who were with him in the car that fell into the Panj River, according to the Tajikistan Committee of Emergency Situations.
According to the agency, the river remains high, and the strong current significantly complicates the search and rescue operation. Despite the challenging conditions, the work continues.

"The river remains high and the current is very strong, significantly complicating the operation. However, despite all the difficulties, the search and rescue operations continue. Representatives from all relevant government agencies are at the scene. Search operations are ongoing from early morning until late evening," Nozimiyon said.
According to him, an emergency response team has been established at the scene. Searches are ongoing daily, with all necessary resources deployed.

Rescuers are surveying the river both from the surface and underwater in the area of the incident, as well as in areas downstream. Emergency Situations Committee units from the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, the Kulyab region, and specialized rescue teams are participating in the search operation.
As a reminder, on the morning of June 17, on the Dushanbe-Khorog highway in the Darvaz district, a car carrying GBAO Chairman Alisher Mirzonabot, his wife, daughter, assistant, and driver plunged into the Panj River.
