Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze arrived in the Republic of Tajikistan on an official visit, NIAT Khovar reported.
The distinguished guest was met at Dushanbe International Airport by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Kohir Rasulzoda, and other officials.
In honor of the official visit of the head of the Georgian government, the airport grounds were decorated with the national flags of Tajikistan and Georgia. A red carpet was rolled out and an honor guard was formed to welcome the distinguished guest. After the national anthems of the two countries were played, Kokhir Rasulzoda and Irakli Kobakhidze introduced the official delegations of both countries.






The visit program includes talks between Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda and Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze in narrow and expanded formats. Following the meetings, a package of cooperation documents is expected to be signed.
A meeting between the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze is also planned.


On the second day of the visit, the head of the Georgian government will meet with the Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, visit the National Museum of Tajikistan, and an exhibition of goods and products of industrial enterprises of the country.
In addition, the visit's program includes Irakli Kobakhidze's participation in the unveiling of a bust of the outstanding Georgian poet and classic of medieval Georgian literature, Shota Rustaveli.
On his first day in Dushanbe, the Georgian Prime Minister also visited Dusti Square, where he laid a wreath at the monument to the founder of Tajik statehood, Ismaili Somoni.





Irakli Kobakhidze was accompanied by First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Khokim Kholikzoda and other officials at the wreath-laying ceremony.
Today, the heads of government of Tajikistan and Georgia will also meet in narrow and expanded formats, following which the parties plan to sign a package of cooperation documents.
