The forum "Trade and Investment Opportunities and Prospects for Cooperation" has opened in Khujand. It is being held as part of the 12th International Trade and Investment Fair "Sughd-2026."
According to a SugdPressa correspondent, more than 500 foreign investors, entrepreneurs, and official delegations from 20 countries are expected to participate in the event.
The official opening ceremony of the fair is scheduled for the afternoon and will take place at the Sports Palace in Khujand.
During the forum, participants will be able to view companies' exhibition stands, conduct B2B and B2G negotiations, and sign memoranda, agreements, and cooperation contracts.
More than 200 companies and enterprises from the Sughd region will present their products, services, and investment opportunities at the event.
The fair's program includes thematic panel discussions and presentations from participating countries' regions, dedicated to issues of trade, investment, and international cooperation development.
A cultural program has also been prepared for the guests. On the evening of June 18, participants will visit the Qalai Khujand Historical and Cultural Complex, explore the city's landmarks, attend a gala reception hosted by the Chairman of the Sughd Region, and attend a concert featuring regional artists.
The fair will continue on June 19. New business meetings, the signing of agreements and contracts, and panel discussions on "Digitalization and Accelerating Industrialization in Tajikistan" and "The Role of Agro-Logistics Centers in Agricultural Development" are scheduled for that day.
The closing ceremony of the Sughd 2026 International Trade and Investment Fair will take place on June 19 at 4:00 PM. It will include a summary of the event's preliminary results, the announcement of the signed agreements, and a press conference for media representatives.
The program will conclude with a cultural event entitled “A Walk Through Khujand at Night and Sightseeing.”
Organizers note that this year's fair marks the twelfth. In 2026, the event will be held for the first time in a new format and will officially be known as the Sughd 2026 International Trade and Investment Fair.
By comparison, the 11th International Trade Fair "Sughd-2025," held last June, attracted approximately 500 participants from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Iran, China, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan. Following the forum, 76 cooperation agreements and contracts were signed.
