In Khujand, a police officer rescued a young woman who found herself in a life-threatening situation, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan.
According to the department, on June 4 at around 1:20 p.m., Bobojon, a resident of the Khistevarz jamoat in the Gafurov district, born in 2003, ended up in the Syr Darya River near the old bridge on Rakhmon Nabiyev Street in Khujand.
Senior Lieutenant Ahadkhon Temurov, a senior inspector with the financial group of the Khujand Department of Internal Affairs, was alerted to the incident. The officer quickly responded to the situation and rescued the girl.
Thanks to the officer's timely actions, the young woman's life was saved. After her rescue, she was given preventative and psychological counseling, after which she was released to her relatives.
Primary investigation materials were prepared for this incident.
On June 10, a working meeting was held at the Khujand Department of Internal Affairs with the participation of the mayor of Khujand, Firdavs Sharifzoda, and the heads of city structures. The police officer's actions were highly praised by the leadership.
The meeting participants emphasized that Senior Police Lieutenant Ahadkhon Temurov demonstrated professionalism and responsibility in the performance of his official duties, which resulted in the saving of a human life.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that law enforcement officers must be prepared to act in any situation involving a threat to the life and health of citizens, remaining true to their oath and their professional duty.
