The ceremony for the international awards "Stars of the Commonwealth" and "Commonwealth of Debuts" was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, as part of the 19th Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the CIS Member States. Among this year's laureates were scientists Akobir Karimzoda and Dilshod Nematov from Tajikistan, according to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

The Stars of the Commonwealth Award is presented annually for the most significant achievements in the humanitarian field, representing global standards and contributing to the development of the CIS and the Commonwealth as a whole. In 2026, 13 candidates from eight countries were nominated for the award, and eight individuals were named laureates.

In the category "For Outstanding Contribution to Culture and Art," the award was given to People's Artist of Azerbaijan, film director, and screenwriter Oktay Mir-Kasimov; Honored Artist of Armenia, conductor, and artistic director of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia Eduard Topchyan; People's Artist of Uzbekistan, artistic director, and principal conductor of the State Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan Kamoliddin Urinbayev; and People's Artist of Kyrgyzstan and general director of the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic named after Toktogul Satylganov Kyrgyzbai Osmonov.

The winners in the category "For Outstanding Contribution and Achievements in Science and Education" were Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Alexander Mikhalevich, Doctor of Philosophy and research fellow at the Institute of Mathematics and Mathematical Modeling of Kazakhstan Farukh Mashurov, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Director of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research Grigory Trubnikov, as well as a representative of Tajikistan Akobir Karimzoda, Doctor of Biological Sciences and Professor in the Department of Human and Animal Physiology at the Tajik National University.

The size of the "Stars of the Commonwealth" award is 2 million rubles.

The forum also featured the presentation of the international "Commonwealth of Debuts" awards. This year, it was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the declared Year of Peace and Unity in the Fight against Nazism. Eleven nominees from eight Commonwealth countries were nominated.

The laureates included opera singer and soloist of the Azerbaijan Academic Opera and Ballet Theater Mahir Tagizade, soloist of the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater of Armenia Bella Amaryan, soloist of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus Iosif Nikitenko, soloist of the State Opera and Ballet Theater "Astana Opera" Sultanbek Gumar, director and actor, artistic director of the Osh National Drama Theater Ulanmyrza Karypbayev, project coordinator of the All-Russian public movement "Victory Volunteers" Daria Terekhova, candidate of technical sciences and head of the quantum electronics laboratory of the Physicotechnical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan Dilshod Nematov, as well as curator of the fund of the State Museum "Shon-Sharaf" at the memorial complex "Victory Park" and a student of the National Institute of Art and Design of Uzbekistan Savrinoz Omontosheva.

The International "Commonwealth of Debuts" Prize was established by the Council for Humanitarian Cooperation and the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States in 2008. The award is presented annually to young professionals under 35 years of age in the humanities, as determined by the prize's founders. Over the years, laureates have included poets, doctors, teachers, scientists, specialists in the preservation of historical and cultural monuments, and promoters of books and reading.
