A working meeting chaired by the regional governor, Rajabboy Akhmadzoda, was held at the executive body of the Sughd region. This was reported by the Sughd region press service.
During the meeting, issues related to the preparation and holding of the XI International Cultural and Educational Forum of the CIS Member States "Children of the Commonwealth", the XII International Trade and Investment Exhibition "Sughd-2026", the expansion of improvement and construction work, as well as preparations for the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan were discussed.
The heads of relevant industries presented reports on the agenda items, after which specific instructions were given for the timely completion of the planned tasks.


It was noted that children and teenagers from CIS countries will visit the Sughd Region as part of the XI International Cultural and Educational Forum "Children of the Commonwealth." A program has been prepared for participants, introducing them to the region's history and culture, national traditions, historical and tourist attractions, and the region's unique natural beauty. Various cultural and educational events and sporting competitions are also planned.
Particular attention was paid to preparations for the 12th International Trade and Investment Exhibition "Sughd-2026," which will be held from June 17 to 20. According to the program, the international forum "Trade and Investment Opportunities and Cooperation Prospects" will be held on June 18 at the Kamoli Khujandi State Musical and Drama Theater in Khujand. The official opening ceremony of the exhibition will take place in the afternoon at the Khujand Sports Palace.



The event's program also includes panel discussions and presentations of the economic potential of the regions of the participating countries.
The Chairman of the Sughd Region emphasized that hosting international events helps strengthen the Republic of Tajikistan's global standing, promote the country's economic and investment opportunities, develop the tourism industry, and create favorable conditions for expanding international cooperation.
The meeting also discussed improvement and construction work related to the celebration of the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's independence. It was noted that, in accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, construction work is actively continuing in the cities and districts of the region, and the construction plan for anniversary facilities has already been exceeded.






As of today, more than 13 thousand facilities have been commissioned, while construction of over 3 thousand more facilities is ongoing.
The meeting participants emphasized that the implementation of these measures contributes to the sustainable development of the economic and social spheres, education, healthcare, culture and sports, as well as to the improvement of living conditions for the population.
Following the meeting, Rajabboy Akhmadzoda gave the heads of relevant agencies and departments specific instructions regarding the high-quality implementation of planned activities, the holding of international events at a high organizational level, and the further strengthening of improvement and construction work.
