Khatlon Region Chairman Davlatali Said met with a delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) led by Sandra Marie Steiskal, the regional governor's press service reported.
During the meeting, the head of the region noted the high level of cooperation with the IAEA and emphasized that joint initiatives implemented in recent years have made a significant contribution to strengthening the material and technical base of medical institutions in the region.






According to Davlatali Said, the consistent implementation of joint projects has contributed to improving the accessibility and quality of medical services, particularly in the area of cancer diagnosis and treatment.
It was noted that the fight against cancer remains a priority for the state's social policy. In this regard, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan is taking comprehensive measures to modernize medical infrastructure, introduce modern technologies, and train qualified specialists.
As part of cooperation with the IAEA, a number of significant projects have been implemented in the Khatlon region. Specifically, the region's oncology facilities were equipped with modern medical equipment, including ultrasound systems, digital X-ray machines, mammography machines, and CT scanners.
IAEA representatives expressed their readiness to continue providing technical and advisory support, as well as to facilitate the training of specialists for the region's healthcare system.
