The Hydrometeorology Agency under the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan has warned of the risk of mudflows and rising water levels in the country's rivers in the coming days.
According to the department, from May 22 to 25, due to heavy rainfall, mudflows are expected in some areas in the Districts of Republican Subordination, Khatlon and Sughd Regions, as well as in the west of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region.
In addition, an increase in water levels is predicted in the Isfara, Zeravshan, Obihingou, Vakhsh, Panj, Yakhsu and Kyzylsu (southern) rivers, as well as in the rivers flowing down the southern slopes of the Gissar Range.
Due to adverse weather conditions, citizens are advised to take precautions.
