A meeting dedicated to World Football Day was held at the United Nations headquarters, with the participation of FIFA President Gianni Infantino, the FFT reports.
Tajikistan was represented at the event by Jonibek Hikmat, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the UN. During his speech, it was noted that Tajikistan is one of the initiators of World Football Day, which is celebrated annually on May 25 worldwide.
The meeting participants emphasized that football today serves as an important tool for strengthening friendship, mutual understanding, and solidarity between peoples, especially among young people.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino congratulated those present and football fans on World Football Day, noting the game's special role in uniting people regardless of nationality, culture, or language. He also expressed his support for initiatives aimed at further developing football in various regions of the world.



During the event, Gianni Infantino spoke with representatives of Tajikistan and exchanged shirts with them, expressing his respect and support for Tajik football fans.
