The Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, Firdavs Tolibzoda, met with Irene Frey, Deputy Head of Department of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), the National Bank of Tajikistan's press department reported.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the development of the financial sector, strengthening financial inclusion, expanding digital services, improving the banking supervision system, and expanding technical cooperation.
Firdavs Tolibzoda noted the high level of cooperation between Tajikistan and Switzerland, emphasizing that joint projects have made a significant contribution to strengthening the country's financial infrastructure, developing digital services, increasing the financial literacy of the population, and implementing the National Strategy for Financial Inclusion of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2022–2026.
The parties also exchanged views on the current state of the economy and financial system of Tajikistan, the progress of structural reforms, and prospects for further cooperation.
It was noted that Tajikistan's economy is demonstrating positive growth dynamics in 2026, and the banking system remains stable. Meeting participants emphasized that the development of digital financial services and cashless payments in the country continues at a rapid pace, and the number of users of electronic payment instruments and e-wallets is steadily growing.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue constructive cooperation and support reforms in Tajikistan's financial sector.
