During a working visit to the Asht district, Sughd Region Chairman Rajab Akhmadzoda inspected the construction of a solar power plant, according to the regional administration's press service.
During the site visit, it was noted that construction work is being carried out in accordance with the instructions of the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, to develop the energy sector and provide the population with high-quality electricity.
According to the regional administration, the project's implementation will provide reliable electricity to residents of the region, industrial enterprises, and other important socio-economic facilities.

It is emphasized that, during the years of independence, achieving energy independence became one of the key objectives of the state and government, and measures taken to improve the energy supply to the population created favorable conditions for the development of the industry.
During the inspection of the facility, it was reported that the solar power plant is being built on a 750-hectare site in the Asht district and is designed to provide electricity to more than 115,000 households.

It is noted that, in connection with the growing demand for electricity, strategically important projects are being implemented at the initiative of the Government of Tajikistan, which play a significant role in the development of the country's energy system.
Currently, construction work is continuing according to plan with the involvement of the necessary equipment and specialists.

The regional administration also emphasized that, amid the growing impacts of climate change, the construction of the solar power plant demonstrates Tajikistan's commitment to developing green energy and achieving sustainable development goals.
Following his review of the construction progress, Rajab Akhmadzoda, acting on instructions from President Emomali Rahmon, ordered that the work be completed at a high level and in accordance with modern requirements.
