As noted, the Fourth High-Level International Conference on the Decade of Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018–2028" will be held in Dushanbe from May 25 to 28.
The conference is being held at the initiative of the Government of Tajikistan in collaboration with the United Nations and other development partners. Its goal is to promote the implementation of the objectives of the Decade of International Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018–2028," proclaimed by the UN General Assembly resolution of December 21, 2016.
The event is expected to be held in person with the participation of representatives of governments of UN member states, international and regional organizations, financial institutions, scientific and educational institutions, the private sector, as well as public and civil society organizations.
Conference participants will also visit regions of Tajikistan, where they will become familiar with the natural landscapes, tourist and recreational facilities, and the country's water and energy potential.
The conference will feature a thematic exhibition on water resources, highlighting Tajikistan's potential and its use for economic development. The event will once again showcase the country as one of the most water-rich countries in Central Asia and a pioneer in water and climate change.
Additionally, they recalled that the official conference website was launched in March of this year, where participants can obtain detailed information about the program, participation procedures, and topics discussed.
