An incident occurred during a monster truck show in the city of Popayán in southwestern Colombia, killing at least three people and injuring approximately 40 others, according to the television channel Noticias Caracol.
According to reports, the female driver lost control while performing the stunt, after which the car went off the track, crashed through a barrier, and smashed into spectators.
After leaving the highway, the monster truck reportedly also collided with a lamp post, causing a short circuit.
Authorities warn that the casualty count may rise, as some of the injured are in serious condition. Officials expressed their condolences to the families of the victims and stated their readiness to provide necessary assistance to the injured.
Several ambulance crews and firefighters were dispatched to the scene. Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident, including a possible technical malfunction of the vehicle and failure to comply with safety regulations at the site.
