Two fatal traffic accidents occurred in Tajikistan in one day, the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
The first accident occurred on April 26, 2026, at approximately 5:30 PM in the city of Vahdat. A Hyundai Porter driven by Akhliddin Radzhabov, born in 1982, collided with a BMW driven by Kudbidin Amonov, born in 1961, while exiting the village of Churtak onto the Dushanbe-Kulyab highway in the B. Burunov rural jamoat.
As a result, the minor passenger in the Hyundai Porter, Ismail Radzhabov, born in 2018, died at the scene from his injuries. The drivers of both vehicles sustained injuries and were hospitalized.
On the same day, at approximately 7:50 PM, a second accident occurred at kilometer 227 of the Dushanbe-Khujand-Chanak highway in the city of Istaravshan. According to the department, the driver of an Opel Zafira, Behruz Kobilov, born in 2007, failed to ensure road safety, drove into oncoming traffic, and collided with a Mercedes-Benz Actros truck driven by Alisher Bobojonov, born in 1991, a resident of the same city.
As a result, the passenger of the Opel Zafira, Abdulkhair Sanginov, born in 2003, died at the scene from his injuries. The driver of the passenger car sustained bodily injuries.
Both incidents are under investigation.
