On April 28, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received Sergio Gora, U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for South and Central Asia. This was reported by the press service of the President of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, a wide range of issues related to the current state and prospects of cooperation between the two sides were discussed, including in the areas of economics and trade, investment, and security.
Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the agreements reached within the framework of the Central Asia-USA (C5+1) dialogue.
In this context, the Leader of the Nation noted Tajikistan's interest in developing ties with the United States in various areas of mutual interest. It was emphasized that the United States is among Tajikistan's top five investment partners.



The President of the Republic of Tajikistan also emphasized the importance of actively using the opportunities provided by the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) to further expand cooperation.
Considering the country's potential in hydropower, mineral extraction and processing, light, food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, the parties recognized the expediency of developing practical cooperation in these areas.
Promising areas of cooperation include the development of artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, and economic digitalization, the creation of joint ventures for processing agricultural products for export, and attracting investment.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue coordinating the efforts of the relevant bodies to achieve their goals and develop bilateral cooperation.
