A bilateral meeting between representatives of customs authorities from Tajikistan and Uzbekistan was held at the Jartepa customs post. The meeting focused on developing cooperation and simplifying procedures for moving goods and vehicles across the state border, UzDaily reports.
The talks were attended by Azim Tursunzoda, First Deputy Head of the Customs Service of Tajikistan, and Nodir Musamukhamedov, Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan. The parties discussed measures to improve the operation of border crossing points and strengthen cooperation between the relevant agencies of the two countries.
Particular attention was paid to the digitalization of customs services and the exchange of technological expertise. The Tajik side presented the VIN.TJ vehicle identification and registration system, implemented on March 16, 2026.
During the meeting, representatives of the delegations noted the high level of development of digital solutions used by the Uzbek side and expressed interest in further expanding cooperation in this area.
Following the talks, the parties agreed to continue strengthening cooperation by introducing modern digital tools into the work of customs authorities and improving the efficiency of customs control at the border.
