On the night of Thursday, January 29, 2026, Russian drones attacked a private residence in the city of Volnyansk in the Zaporizhzhia region. According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the regional military administration, three people were killed and another was injured in the strike.
"Russians launched drone strikes on private homes in Volnyansk. Houses were destroyed and fires broke out. Unfortunately, two women and a man were killed, and another man was injured. He is receiving all necessary medical care," Ivan Fedorov reported on Telegram.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the Russian side used guided bombs in attacks on the Zaporizhia region. The Suspilne TV channel also recorded the sounds of explosions in the Khmelnytskyi region amid the threat of a possible drone attack.
On the morning of January 28, the head of the Zaporizhia Regional Military Administration reported damage to 12 residential buildings as a result of Russian shelling in Zaporizhia. One of the strikes hit the courtyard of a multi-story building. According to Fedorov, "more than 100 apartments and 20 cars were damaged," and six people were injured.
The aftermath of the strikes includes the destruction of private homes, damage to residential buildings and vehicles, and the outbreak of fires. Those affected are receiving necessary medical care, and work is underway to clean up the aftermath and ensure public safety.
