A working group from the Football Federation of Tajikistan (FFT) commission completed a working visit to the Sughd region aimed at familiarizing themselves with the teams' preparations for the new football season, the FFT reports.
On January 29, a delegation from the Football Federation of Tajikistan held a working meeting with Firdavs Sharifzoda, the mayor of Khujand and the chairman of the Khujand Football Federation. Furkat Abdullozoda, the new executive director of the Khujand Football Club, also participated in the meeting.
During the dialogue, the parties discussed the development of football in Khujand, strengthening the city's sports infrastructure, supporting FC Khujand, and the prospects of creating a women's team and a futsal club based at FC Khujand. Other pressing issues related to the development of sports in the region were also discussed.
Tajikistan Football Federation Vice Presidents Alisher Urunov and Sayvali Doniyorzoda expressed gratitude to Khujand City Mayor Firdavs Sharifzoda for his comprehensive support and contribution to the development of football, and wished the new director of the Khujand club success in his work to develop the main team of the Sughd region.
During the visit, the FFT working group also visited the Khujand stadiums "20th Anniversary of Tajikistan's Independence" and "Spartak," which will host matches under the auspices of the Tajikistan Football League in the new season. They also toured the Sughd Arena sports complex, which is currently under construction and is slated to receive artificial turf.
In addition, a delegation from the Football Federation of Tajikistan visited the city of Guliston and familiarized themselves with the project to modernize the Central Stadium, which will also feature artificial turf.
