Preschool enrollment in Tajikistan has increased significantly, from 15.6% in 2020 to 30.1% in 2025. This was announced by Tajikistan's Minister of Education and Science , Rahim Saidzoda, on January 30 during a press conference on the 2025 results.
According to him, during the specified period, the number of preschool institutions increased from 678 to 795 units, and the number of children enrolled increased from 146,496 to 310,657 people, which is 117 institutions and 164,161 children more, respectively.


The Minister noted that to ensure greater coverage and access to preschool education, 3,154 early childhood development centers have been established at general education institutions, serving 182,744 children. This is an increase of 270 centers and 51,427 children compared to the same period in 2024.
Overall, preschool enrollment stands at 310,657, or 30.1%, an increase of 65,370, or 6.9%, compared to the 2024 target. Furthermore, the private preschool construction plan, as outlined in the Program for the Development of Private Preschool and General Secondary Education in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2022–2027, has been fulfilled at 152%, added Rahim Saidzoda.
