During an operational search, police officers detained a 30-year-old resident of Dushanbe on suspicion of organizing illegal migration, according to the Tajik Ministry of Internal Affairs.
As established during the investigation, in May 2023, without permission from the Labor Migration Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the suspect gained the trust of a 48-year-old resident of the city of Gissar in the Shohmansur district of Dushanbe. He then obtained 22,000 somoni and a passport from him, promising to obtain a visa and facilitate employment in the UK. However, he has not yet fulfilled his promise, and has used the proceeds for personal purposes.
Similarly, the suspect, having gained the trust of a 40-year-old resident of the Rudaki district, also received 22,000 somoni and a passport from him, promising to provide a visa and employment in the UK. However, these promises were not fulfilled, and the funds were used for his own needs.
Furthermore, it was established that the detainee, taking advantage of the trust of a 47-year-old resident of the Rudaki district, received 22,000 somoni and a passport from him, promising to obtain a visa and help him find employment in the UK. However, in this case, the promises were not fulfilled, and the money was spent on personal use.
A criminal case has been opened against the suspect under Part 2, Appendix 2, Article 335 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan. An investigation is currently underway.
