The Sughd Region has announced a regional competition, "Tajikistan – the Homeland of Navruz" ("Тоджикистон ватани Навруз аст"), dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's state independence and the International Navruz holiday. This was reported by the regional press service.
The competition was organized by the Department of Youth and Sports of the Sughd Region in conjunction with the Bakhoriston TV channel, the Istiklol Guruh construction company, and the Vorisoni Sughd newspaper.
The competition will be held in the following categories: "Best Drawing," "Best Video," and "Best Poem," with poems required to be original. Submissions should reflect the traditions of Navruz, the beauty of spring, the natural environment of the native land, and love for the Motherland.
The goal of the competition is to promote and popularize the best traditions of our ancestors, cultivate respect for national culture and civilization, and enhance a sense of self-awareness and national identity among adolescents and young adults.
The competition will be held in one round, with the results announced on the eve of Navruz. The winners will be awarded commemorative gifts and souvenirs at a ceremony.
The competition is being held online. Submissions are accepted via Telegram and WhatsApp messaging apps by calling 92-703-63-67. Participants' submissions will be featured on the Bakhoriston TV channel, the Vorisoni Sughd newspaper, and on social media.
Participants can submit materials in the following categories: "Best Drawing" – a depiction of the enchanting springtime nature of their native land; "Best Poem" – a celebration of spring and Navruz, love for the Motherland, and the preservation of the state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, with an audio recording; "Best Video" – a video of up to three minutes long dedicated to the history, traditions, and values of the International Navruz holiday.
Submissions will be accepted until March 15, 2026. The competition is open to teenagers and young adults aged 10 to 30.
