Kulob State University named after Abuabdullo Rudaki will reward faculty members who defend their doctoral dissertations starting September 1, 2026, with incentive payments of 30,000 to 40,000 somoni. This was announced by university Rector Munir Safarzoda at a press conference on February 2.
It was also noted that, within the framework of the announced "Twenty Years of Study and Development of Natural, Exact, and Mathematical Sciences in the Field of Science and Education" for 2020–2040, from September 1, 2026, in the field of natural, exact, and mathematical sciences, the size of incentive payments for defending a candidate's dissertation will be 10,000 somoni, and for defending a doctoral dissertation—40,000 somoni.
The press conference also reported that Kulyab State University cooperates with 90 foreign higher education institutions and has signed new cooperation agreements with four foreign institutions.
In addition, two new grant projects have been proposed at the university to develop English language teaching and linguistic research.
