According to local authorities, one person was killed in a drone attack on Odesa on the night of February 9. Residential buildings and a gas pipeline were also damaged. The massive attack targeted not only the city but also the surrounding region.
The head of the regional military administration, Sergei Lysak , reported the drone attack overnight. According to local authorities, the strikes resulted in damage to civilian infrastructure.
"In particular, a fire broke out on the roof of a multi-story residential building, a gas pipeline was damaged, and fires were also recorded in cars and a non-residential building," Lysak wrote on his Telegram channel.
Regional State Administration Chairman Oleh Kiper also reported damage to residential infrastructure. He stated that the massive attack targeted not only Odesa but the entire Odesa region.
Earlier, the Ukrainian side reported that on the night of February 8, Russia attacked Ukrainian territory with more than 100 unmanned aerial vehicles. According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, a total of 101 attack drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas types, as well as other types, were recorded. The launches were allegedly carried out from Kursk, Orel, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Shatalovo.
Additionally, local authorities reported an aerial bomb dropped on Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region , killing a 77-year-old woman. Three other men, aged between 40 and 48, were injured. According to the Kherson Regional Military Administration, multiple launch rocket system strikes also hit central Kherson and the city's Korabelny district.
According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy , over the past week, Russia has attacked the country using 116 missiles, 1,200 guided bombs, and more than 2,000 unmanned aerial vehicles. He noted that strikes are carried out almost daily on energy facilities, logistics infrastructure, and residential buildings, including while diplomatic efforts to achieve peace are ongoing.
Against this backdrop, Belgorod authorities announced they were accepting applications for evacuation. The decision was made following Ukrainian attacks on energy facilities in the border city, which led to heating problems. It was reported that school-age children, large families, families with disabled children, and pensioners living alone were being evacuated to other regions of Russia and annexed Crimea.
