Tajikistan has not changed its position on the current Afghan government, stated Khayriddin Usmonzoda, head of the Center for Strategic Studies, during a press conference.
According to him, all diplomatic and working contacts that are carried out between the heads of various departments of the two countries are necessary and aimed primarily at ensuring security.

Usmonzoda noted that meetings between representatives of relevant agencies of Tajikistan and Afghanistan concern security issues on the common state border.
He also emphasized that Tajikistan does not recognize the authority of the Taliban movement, which currently governs Afghanistan.
At the same time, he said, contacts related to border trade, cooperation in certain areas, and issues of providing humanitarian aid remain.
