The financing agreement for the project "Development of the Electricity Market and Coordination of Energy Systems in Central Asia" was signed by Tajikistan's Minister of Finance, Faiziddin Qahhorzoda, and World Bank Resident Representative in the Republic, Gael Rabaland.
The project aims to develop the energy sector in Central Asian countries. Tajikistan is receiving $60 million in grant funding.
The project includes the construction of a 500 kV transmission line from the Dushanbe-500 substation to the Regar-500 substation, as well as the expansion of these substations. In addition, a feasibility study and design work are planned for the 500 kV Rogun-Saihun transmission line (South-North, Phase 2).
The project will support the development of infrastructure and the electricity market in Tajikistan, facilitating integration with the energy systems of Central Asia.
