The Israel Defense Forces announced the beginning of a new wave of strikes against Tehran. The IDF statement said the attacks were targeting "Iranian regime" targets in the capital. The Israeli Air Force also launched a series of attacks against military targets in Tehran. Iran's broadcasting center was reportedly destroyed in an Israeli airstrike. Meanwhile, Iran's state broadcaster, IRIB, stated that the attacks had not caused any disruptions and that broadcasting was continuing as normal.
Explosions were heard again in Tehran after US and Israeli airstrikes resumed. Tasnim News Agency reported that airstrikes on the city had resumed after a brief pause. Strikes were also reported on the Diplomatic Police Center in central Tehran, and two strikes were reported on Ferdowsi Square, home to the Russian embassy. A hit was recorded near the RT office in Tehran, and evacuations have begun.
According to the Iranian Red Crescent, at least 555 people have been killed in attacks by the US and Israel. Tasnim News Agency reported that at least 47 people were killed in strikes on Iran's Isfahan province. A spokesman for Iran's Ministry of Education stated that at least 175 teachers and students in Iranian schools have been killed in two days. IRNA reported that Israel and the US attacked six districts of Yazd in southern Iran.
US President Donald Trump stated that the operation against Iran would last four to five weeks, but there was potential for it to be extended. He emphasized that the US would not need to use ground forces and stated that the "big wave" of strikes had not yet begun. According to Trump, the US military eliminated Iran's military leadership within an hour of the operation's launch. He also stated that after the destruction of Iran's nuclear program, Washington warned Tehran against resuming it.
US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that the operation against Iran would not be short-lived, blaming Tehran for starting the war. He announced that the US would deploy additional units from all branches of the military to the Middle East. However, he asserted that there are no American troops on Iranian soil.
US Central Command stated that its armed forces were continuing large-scale combat operations against Iran in response to retaliatory attacks by Iranian forces. Four US service members were reported killed as of this morning, and the Pentagon later reported that the death toll had reached six. CNN reported that the number of US service members injured had risen to 18.
Iran, for its part, claimed to have struck American and Israeli targets. According to the IRGC, targets in Bahrain, the UAE, and Kuwait were hit as part of the twelfth phase of Operation True Promise 4. Twenty-six drones and five ballistic missiles were allegedly launched. IRIB reported a nighttime attack on NATO's Victoria Air Base near Erbil International Airport in Baghdad and the downing of an American Palm Jet in the vicinity of the base. Iran claimed that 27 US bases, the Israeli Tel Nof Air Base, the Israeli army headquarters, and a major defense industrial complex in Tel Aviv were hit. IRNA reported a strike on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office.
IRGC commander adviser Ibrahim Jabari said Iran would "burn any ship" that attempts to pass through the Strait of Hormuz in an effort to block oil exports from Middle Eastern countries.

The IDF announced strikes on 70 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, including weapons depots and rocket launchers. Lebanese media reported the destruction of several apartment buildings in a Beirut suburb.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that 52 people were killed and 154 injured in Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon in the past 24 hours. According to the Lebanese government's Emergency Management Center, 28,500 people were forced to flee their homes.
An Aramco oil refinery in Saudi Arabia was hit by drones, halting operations. Qatar Energy, which supplies 20% of the world's LNG, is suspending liquefied natural gas production following Iran's strikes on Ras Laffan. More than 2,000 flights have been canceled in the Persian Gulf region amid US and Israeli strikes on Iran.
Turkey has closed three checkpoints on its border with Iran. Jordan has partially closed its airspace to all aircraft. The UK is relocating the families of personnel at the Akrotiri airbase in Cyprus following Iranian drone strikes. Two drones heading to the base were intercepted.
Russian President Vladimir Putin held telephone conversations with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, Crown Prince Salman Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The Kremlin stated the need to end the war in the Middle East and noted that the escalation around Iran due to Israeli and US aggression is bringing the region to the brink of a full-scale war.
IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi stated that Iran did not possess nuclear weapons, adding that the presence of indicators of concern does not mean it possesses nuclear capabilities. He also stated that agency staff had not seen any evidence of Iran seriously attempting to restore its nuclear facilities following the US strikes in the summer of 2025. The IAEA is attempting to contact Iranian nuclear regulators, but has not yet responded.
Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani stated that Tehran has no intention of negotiating with Washington. Meanwhile, The Washington Post reported that Donald Trump has not initiated talks with Iran's interim government but plans to do so in the future. CNBC reported that Trump administration officials acknowledged in closed congressional briefings that they lacked intelligence on Iran's plans to launch a first strike against U.S. forces.
