On March 28, a working meeting between Davlatali Said, the governor of Khatlon Region, and representatives of a technology and electronics company from the People's Republic of China took place at the executive body of the Khatlon Region. This was reported by the press service of the Khatlon Region governor.
During the meeting, the parties discussed expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in the energy sector. It was noted that strengthening cooperation in this area could contribute to the region's sustainable economic development and improve living conditions.
Khatlon Region Chairman Davlatali Said emphasized that one of the region's pressing challenges is ensuring a stable electricity supply. Given the growing population and increasing demand for electricity, the implementation of new and modern energy projects is essential.


In this regard, the construction of a solar power plant with a total capacity of 500 megawatts in the Khatlon region in cooperation with the Chinese company SETS was discussed. It was noted that the implementation of this major project will contribute to the resolution of existing energy supply issues, as well as create conditions for the use of renewable energy sources and environmental protection.
Representatives of the Chinese company expressed their willingness to expand cooperation, attract investment, and implement modern technologies in the energy sector. They emphasized that the company's experience in implementing large-scale energy projects could facilitate the effective implementation of this initiative.
The parties also discussed issues related to the project's implementation stages, attracting specialists, training local personnel, and creating new jobs.
At the end of the meeting, confidence was expressed that mutually beneficial cooperation between the Khatlon region and leading companies of the People's Republic of China will strengthen and contribute to the development of the energy sector and an improvement in the standard of living of the population.
