Strengthening bilateral cooperation in customs matters between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan was discussed during a meeting between the leadership of the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Customs Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, according to the Customs Service of Tajikistan.
Azim Tursunzoda, First Deputy Head of the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, and Nadir Musamukhamedov, Deputy Chairman of the Customs Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, discussed a wide range of pressing issues, including simplifying customs procedures, reducing administrative barriers to the movement of goods and vehicles, ensuring transparency, and expediting customs clearance.



Particular attention was paid to the development of information exchange between the customs authorities of the two states, and ways to solve existing problems in this area were also considered.
During the meeting, the parties also focused on ensuring the preliminary exchange of data on transit cargo, coordinating information on goods transported by individuals for personal use, and improving customs control procedures at border checkpoints.


The meeting between the heads of customs authorities of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan was noted as an important step in strengthening bilateral cooperation and developing economic relations between the two countries.
