As of April 4, Tajik farmers had planted 23,320 hectares of cotton, according to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Of the total volume of crops, 2,701 hectares are in the Sughd region, 22,597 hectares in the Khatlon region, and 22 hectares in the districts of republican subordination.
The Ministry noted that the cotton sowing plan for 2026 is 186,800 hectares.
Currently, the sowing campaign is ongoing on all farms with the aim of obtaining a high yield and contributing to the development of the national economy.
It is emphasized that cotton growing not only provides the country's industry with raw materials, but also plays an important role in creating jobs and producing finished goods.
Farmers sow using high-quality seeds and modern equipment. They also use high-yielding varieties adapted to the region's climate.
It is noted that cotton is one of the country's main export products, with its global market value rising year after year. Therefore, cotton farmers strive to contribute to increasing production potential, raising economic income, and improving living standards.
