On April 16 and 17, 2026, two fatal road accidents occurred in Tajikistan, the Tajik Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
The first accident occurred on April 16 at approximately 4:00 PM on the Dushanbe-Chanok-Khujand highway in the Bobojon Gafurov district. The driver of a Mercedes-Benz, Abdurakhmon Mukhammadkhasanovich Boltayev, born in 1999, a resident of Guliston, lost control and collided with a KAMAZ truck driven by Orifjon Jabborov, born in 1955, a resident of the district, who was pulling out onto the main road from the shoulder at the time.
As a result of the accident, a passenger in the Mercedes-Benz, Ashurov Khumayni Odiljonovich, born in 1996, a resident of Guliston, sustained serious injuries and died at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, as well as passengers Ashurov Muhammadali Vakhobdzhonovich, born in 1997, and Ashurov Muhammadsharif Vakhobdzhonovich, born in 2005, sustained bodily injuries and were hospitalized.
The second accident occurred on April 17 at approximately 7:45 a.m. The driver of a Mercedes-Benz, Barotalibek Hasanovich Mamarahimov, born in 1999, a resident of the Jaloliddini Balkhi district, lost control of the vehicle while driving toward the Jaykhun district in the Balkhi jamoat and struck the driver of an electric bicycle, Farrukh Salimdzhonovich Mamadaliev, born in 1994, a resident of the same district.
As a result of the accident, the electric bicycle driver received serious injuries and died at the scene.
An investigation is being conducted into these facts.
