More than 20 tourism agreements have been signed in Tajikistan. The documents were signed during the "Sughd – Crossroads of the Great Silk Road" forum held in Khujand, according to the country's Tourism Development Committee.
According to the agency, a total of 21 agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed. These are expected to provide additional impetus to the development of interregional and international cooperation in the tourism industry.
The agreements were concluded between representatives of travel companies, the hotel industry, tour operators and other service providers from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The documents are aimed at expanding business ties, creating joint tourist routes, exchanging experiences, and attracting more tourists.
The Committee noted that preparations for the implementation of the agreements reached demonstrate the willingness of foreign partners to develop cooperation with Tajikistan in the field of tourism.
Tourism is considered a key sector of the country's economy, demonstrating steady growth. The number of foreign tourists is increasing annually. By the end of 2025, this figure was expected to increase by 31.3 percent compared to 2024.
The number of travelers from the CIS countries amounted to 1.9 million, accounting for 91.8 percent of the total number of arrivals. Of these, 1.6 million were tourists.
