On January 20, 2026, Deputy Minister of Labor, Migration, and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan Abdurakhmon Ashuralizoda met with Vincent Biggot, an official at the European Union Delegation to Brussels, to discuss further cooperation in developing the EU Budget Support Program for Vocational and Technical Education in Tajikistan. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Labor, Migration, and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, the parties expressed satisfaction with the work completed within the framework of the current project "Technical Assistance in the Spheres of Education and Labor of the Republic of Tajikistan" and the "Budget Support Program" for 2023-2025, and also discussed the extension of the European Union Budget Support Program for the next two years.
Deputy Minister Abdurakhmon Ashuralizoda drew Vincent Biggot's attention to the effectiveness of the projects' stated goals during their implementation. Specifically, this included the renovation and equipping of crafts and modern vocational skills development centers (Adult Education Centers), the digitalization of the educational process, the development of professional competency standards, the creation of an Education Information Management System for adult education centers, a child labor survey, and the formation of industry committees in the construction and textile sectors, which act as advisory bodies in the areas of professional skills development, vocational education, and workforce and human resource development.



He noted that this decision was made based on the successful achievement of the Budget Support Programme indicators during its implementation, the high level of cooperation, commitment and effective coordination of national authorities.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that the extension of the Program is an important contribution to strengthening education and labor reforms, developing human capital, and increasing social inclusion in the Republic of Tajikistan. He stated that the new stages of the Program will focus on the following areas:
- developing green skills and supporting the transition to a green economy;
- digitalization in vocational training, adult education and the labor market;
- supporting vulnerable groups, including women and people with disabilities, through training, skills development and employment promotion.
Vincent Biggott, on behalf of the European Union, expressed readiness to continue close cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and emphasized the commitment to achieving sustainable and inclusive development goals.
