From January 13 to 16, 2026, the Hydrometeorology Agency of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan held a training seminar on the installation and adaptation of the Smartmet Alert hydrometeorological hazard warning system. The seminar was organized in collaboration with the Finnish Meteorological Institute as part of the Fintaj project, according to the Agency's press service.
The event was attended by specialists from the Hydrometeorology Agency, who learned theoretical and practical lessons on the operating principles of the Smartmet Alert warning system for hazardous hydrometeorological events.

It was noted that the implementation of the Smartmet Alert system will enable the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Republic of Tajikistan to more effectively inform the public and relevant services of potential hazardous weather events. The system is expected to help reduce risks and minimize the impacts of adverse hydrometeorological conditions.
