On January 7, 2026, a meeting with representatives of the US Embassy and the International Organization for Migration was held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan. The event was initiated by the Chairman of the Interdepartmental Commission on Combating Human Trafficking, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, and Police Colonel General A.A. Alamshozoda. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on strengthening bilateral cooperation in combating human trafficking. Participants discussed the efforts and measures of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan to prevent human trafficking and provide assistance to its victims.


The event was attended by Brian Gillespie, Director of the INL Section at the US Embassy, Rebecca Kucherava, Head of the Political Section of the Embassy, and Viktor Letenko, Head of the International Organization for Migration in Tajikistan.
The parties emphasized the importance of continuing joint work to improve the effectiveness of measures to protect citizens' rights and prevent crimes related to human trafficking.
