This year, Tajikistan will host the national competition "Treasury of Tajik History and Culture." The competition will be held among students from secondary and higher education institutions across the country, according to the Agency for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The competition is being organized as part of the implementation of the orders and instructions of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in order to preserve national history and culture.
According to the information, the competition is based on the "Schedule of holidays and anniversaries, festivals, exhibitions, cultural and educational events and folk traditions in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2026," approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan dated January 2, 2026.
The competition is being initiated by the Agency for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage. The goal of the event is to popularize national history and culture among the public, especially adolescents and young adults, strengthen self-awareness and national identity, revive historical memory, and foster a deeper understanding of the role of the ancient and cultural Tajik people in the development of human civilization.
In his address to the Majlisi Oli, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon emphasized that historical and cultural heritage is the "passport" of the ancient Tajik people. The head of state emphasized the need to purposefully continue to adequately represent the nation's tangible and intangible assets on the international stage.
"We are obligated, along with pride, to also embrace the unique legacy of our ancestors, to study and continue it, and, moreover, to pass it on to future generations as a priceless treasure of spirituality," the President of Tajikistan emphasized.
