Effective January 1, 2026, Tajikistan assumed the chairmanship of the CIS Council on Aviation and Airspace Use. This was announced by the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC).
It is noted that the republic received this authority from Russia, which chaired the organization from 2023 to 2025. Tajikistan will lead the Council for Aviation and Airspace Use for three years.
"The Russian Federation's chairmanship of the Council ended in 2025, and Tajikistan will assume the chairmanship for the next three years," the IAC clarified.
According to the current procedure, from January 1, 2026, the organization will be headed by the Director of the Civil Aviation Agency of the Republic of Tajikistan, Khabibullo Nazarzoda.
