Members of the Majlis of People's Deputies of Khatlon Region approved the regional budget for 2026, amounting to over 5.6 billion somoni. This was announced by Azamjon Chillazoda, Head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan for Khatlon Region.
According to the approved parameters, the Khatlon region's budget for 2026 will amount to 5 billion 680.1 million somoni, which is 1 billion 327.3 million somoni more than the 2025 figure. Of this total, 3.38 billion somoni is planned to be provided from the region's own revenues, with an additional 2.445 billion somoni allocated from the national budget.
The regional budget for 2026 places a primary emphasis on the social sector. 63.8% of the budget is allocated for the development of the education system, and 23.8% for healthcare. Thus, almost 90% of the Khatlon region's budget in 2026 will be allocated to the development of education and healthcare.
