On December 25, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Tajikistan Jeong Sung-shik visited the State Institution "National Library" of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and met with the institution's director, Jumakhon Faizalizoda, to support the activities of the Korean Corner, the library's press service reported.
During the meeting, the parties discussed cultural cooperation between Tajikistan and Korea. In particular, the Director of the National Library discussed the legal framework for this cooperation, including the Memorandum of Understanding between the National Library and the King Sejong Institute of the Republic of Korea, as well as the Memorandum of Understanding between the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and the National Library.
Jumakhon Faizalizoda noted that the Korean Corner is currently successfully operating in accordance with the cooperation agreement, and is visited daily by dozens of Russian residents and international guests. The number of its readers is growing year after year.
Korean Ambassador Jeong Song-shik thanked the National Library's management for the warm welcome and spoke about the further development of the Korean Corner at the National Library and its technical equipment. The ambassador also mentioned the EPS program, noting that it is beneficial not only for Korean language students but for the entire population of Tajikistan. The ambassador emphasized that 400 Tajik citizens are currently studying the Korean language in Korea.
On behalf of the Korean government, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea donated e-books to the Korean Corner: stories and novels, a book containing information about ancient Korean buildings and houses, and national musical instruments.

The meeting concluded with the recitation of poetry in Korean by active users of the Korean Corner.
