Over the past weekend, two traffic accidents occurred on the roads of Tajikistan, resulting in two deaths and one serious injury, the Tajik Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
On December 18, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the driver of an Opel Astra, Kholzoda Kosim Makhmadullo, born in 1991, a resident of the city of Nurek, lost control of the vehicle on the Dushanbe-Kulyab highway, in the Dangara district, and collided with a DAF semi-trailer truck driven by Nabiyev Khurshed Safarovich, born in 1969, a resident of the city of Kulyab.
As a result of the accident, the passenger of the Opel Astra, Yusupov Makhmadullo Kholovich, born in 1954, a resident of the city of Nurek, died at the scene.
On December 19, 2025, at approximately 3:40 p.m., the driver of a Hyundai Avante, Sirojiddin Katakhonovich Kholikulov, born in 2004, a resident of the Yavansky district, lost control of the vehicle in the Norin rural jamoat and hit a pedestrian, Abdusamad Abdugaforovich Bekmurodov, born in 2001, a local resident.
As a result of the collision, the pedestrian died while being taken to the hospital, and the car's passenger, Komil Sultanovich Sarimsokov, born in 2004, also a local resident, received serious injuries and was hospitalized.
An investigation into both road accidents is underway, and law enforcement officials are continuing to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
