During his address to the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon instructed the government to take the necessary measures to upgrade and bring the international airports of Dushanbe, Bokhtar, and Kulob into line with modern service standards. The head of state also announced that construction and renovation of 300 kilometers of international and national highways will begin in 2026, at a total cost of 3 billion somoni.
These include the 70-kilometer Vahdat-Obigarm road, the 33-kilometer Guliston-Kulyab road, the 39-kilometer Khorog-Roshtkala road, the 67-kilometer Murghab-Kulma road, the 55-kilometer Baljuvon-Sari Khosor road, the 10-kilometer Khistevarz-Kanibadam (Arka) road, the 11-kilometer Kulyab bypass road, and five automobile bridges on the Labi Jar-Sangvor road, the President noted.
The Leader of the Nation stressed the need to expand the activities of the Ministry of Transport in cooperation with development partners to continue the construction and reconstruction of roads of international importance, taking into account high-quality design.
"Along with this, the Ministry must take measures to organize transport and logistics centers and reconstruct the railway fleet and its infrastructure," concluded the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon.
