On December 10, 2025, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan hosted an event to sign a Protocol of Negotiations between the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) as part of a $6.5 million grant project. The project aims to strengthen the digitalization of government functions in the Republic of Tajikistan, according to the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan.
At the beginning of the event, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Abdurahmonzoda Abdurahmon Safarali noted that thanks to the wise and far-sighted policies of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, bilateral relations and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and the Republic of Korea have developed, creating a reliable foundation for the implementation of creative and effective projects.
Abdurakhmonzoda A.S. emphasized that the Protocol of negotiations was signed within the framework of the instructions of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon, related to the announcement of 2025-2030 as the years of development of the digital economy and innovation, as well as in pursuance of the points of the Action Plan of the Medium-Term Program for the Development of the Digital Economy of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025.



The document provides for the creation of a unified platform for monitoring and evaluating strategic documents, as well as the digitalization of coordination processes and the effective planning of the placement of applicants into higher, secondary, and primary vocational education institutions.
Director of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Kang Seung-hong expressed gratitude for the warm and sincere welcome, noting that KOICA will devote all its resources and capabilities to implementing industry projects that contribute to the development of the digital economy in Tajikistan.
At the conclusion of the event, the parties signed a Protocol of Negotiations, which cements cooperation between the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to strengthen the digitalization of government functions in the Republic of Tajikistan.
