On December 4, 2025, in Vienna, on the sidelines of the 32nd meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó, the Tajik Foreign Ministry reported.
During the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Hungary, including in the political, economic, and trade spheres, as well as education, as well as interaction with the European Union and multilateral relations within international organizations, and other issues of mutual interest, including the situation in Afghanistan.


At the end of the meeting, the heads of the foreign ministries signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation within the framework of the Hungarian Scholarship Program for 2026–2028, according to which Tajik students will be provided scholarships to study at Hungarian universities.
