On November 28, a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Combating Human Trafficking was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. The meeting was titled "Presentation of the Manual for Collecting Data and Preparing an Annual Report on Combating Human Trafficking in the Republic of Tajikistan," the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan reported.
The meeting was attended and addressed by the Chairman of the Interdepartmental Commission on Combating Human Trafficking, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Police Colonel General Abdurakhmon Alamshozoda, Director of the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Agency (INL) in the Republic of Tajikistan Gillespie Brian, Representative of the International Organization for Migration in Tajikistan Bakhrom Rakhmatjonov, as well as other law enforcement officials, government agencies and departments.



"The goal and objective of this commission in the fight against human trafficking is to work together to establish effective work, reduce crime rates, eliminate all factors that hinder this process, and enhance the authority and prestige of the state," Abdurakhmon Alamshozoda noted in his opening remarks.
He also noted that last year the commission held a significant number of conferences and round tables, as well as advanced training courses in the field of prosecutor's offices, judicial bodies, and internal affairs agencies in various regions of the country.
This year, he said, training seminars in this area were organized in Dushanbe, the administrative centers of the Sughd and Khatlon regions, the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, the districts of republican subordination, and the Rasht Valley.
At the meeting, participants presented on the topics "The Importance of Data Collection, Processing, and Analysis as a Key Tool for Combating Human Trafficking in International and National Contexts," "Specifics and Key Requirements for Providing Data in International Reports on Combating Human Trafficking, Taking into Account Ensuring Comparability of Information," and also presented a "Manual on Data Collection in the Sphere of Combating Human Trafficking in the Republic of Tajikistan."
Following the meeting, participants made useful suggestions and recommendations for improving the commission's work and achieving progress in combating human trafficking.
