The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Youth Forum, aimed at strengthening interaction between the peoples of the region, will be held in March 2026 in the capital of Tajikistan, reports NIAT Khovar.
This was stated by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Kokhir Rasulzoda, speaking at a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the SCO countries in Moscow.
"To strengthen contacts between our peoples, I would like to announce that the SCO Youth Forum will be held in Dushanbe in March 2026. This will become an important platform for expanding contacts and cooperation between our youth," the Prime Minister noted.
He added that Tajikistan attaches particular importance to the development of humanitarian cooperation between the organization's countries and supports the implementation of humanitarian exchanges and projects such as the "Tourism Capital of the SCO" and "Cultural Capital of the SCO."
Kokhir Rasulzoda emphasized that Tajikistan will assume the chairmanship of the SCO Heads of Government Council in 2026. "Tajikistan will focus its efforts on further strategically updating the organization's economic agenda," the Prime Minister said.
The meeting of the SCO Heads of Government Council took place on November 17–18 in Moscow and marked the final event of Russia's chairmanship of the SCO Heads of Government Council in 2024–2025. The meeting discussed strengthening cooperation in the economic, humanitarian, educational, and cultural spheres, as well as security and regional development.
