Indian chess player Anand Pranav won the Tajikistan Presidential Chess Cup, which concluded in Dushanbe. The Chess Federation of the Republic of Tajikistan announced this.
The competition was organized by the Chess Federation of Tajikistan with the support of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) and the Committee for Youth and Sports under the Government of the Republic.
Anand Pranav scored 7 points out of 9 possible and took sole first place, which secured him the grand prize of 10 thousand US dollars.
More than 80 masters from 15 countries took part in the tournament.
The Tajikistan Chess Federation celebrated the national team's successful performance: nearly half of the athletes entered the top 50 overall, and in Group B, Tajik chess players won six prizes.
The prize fund for the competition was $36,000 in Group A and $10,000 in Group B.
